BRANDWAG narrowly pipped Oudtshoorn High 20-17 in their schools rugby match played in Oudtshoorn on Saturday.
Brandwag showed the effects of travelling to the Karoo and struggled to find their rhythm on attack despite ample possession.
For the home side, tries were scored by left wing Jacques van Zyl and inside centre Dominic Smit. Van Zyl converted both tries and added a penalty.
Brandwag prop Kaden Prince scored the visitors’ only try in the second half, while fullback Rivan Lemmer secured victory with five penalties.
The half-time score was 7-3 to Oudtshoorn.
