“You make me sick,” a suspected hitman uttered angrily through gritted teeth to the journalist as he appeared in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court yesterday in connection with Jayde Panayiotou’s death.
Zolani Sibeko, 35, who also calls himself Zolani “Roxo”, is the latest accused to be charged in connection with the pretty school teacher’s kidnapping and murder in April last year.
Jayde, 29, was abducted from outside her Kabega Park home and driven to KwaNobuhle, outside Uitenhage, where she was shot dead, allegedly on the instruction of her husband, Christopher Panayiotou, 29.
Sibeko, who was nabbed at his family’s Greenbushes home after he was allegedly linked to the offence through cellphone plotting, stands accused alongside Panayiotou and fellow suspected hitmen Sizwezakhe Vumazonke and Sinethemba Nemembe.
As he briefly took to the dock yesterday, he turned to the reporter and told her she made him sick.
